{"id":117,"date":"2026-02-05T10:44:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T09:44:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/afon\/?page_id=117"},"modified":"2026-02-05T10:44:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T09:44:41","slug":"other-activities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/afon\/en\/other-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Other activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Functional Analysis Unit conducts various types of activities aimed at the general public through several associations and events highlighted below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bms.ulb.ac.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Belgian Mathematical Society<\/a> (BMS) aims to bring together all Belgian mathematicians through different events such as\n<ul>\n<li>the \u00ab\u00a0Young Scholar Day,\u00a0\u00bb which seeks to provide belgian young researchers in mathematics the opportunity to meet and present their works.<\/li>\n<li>the symposium \u00ab\u00a0Recent Breakthroughs in Mathematics,\u00a0\u00bb showcasing the work of the laureates of the \u00ab\u00a0BMS Young Scholar Award\u00a0\u00bb as well as the work of some laureates of the Fields Medal and the Abel Prize.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathenjeans.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> MATh.en.JEANS Belgium Association<\/a> aims to introduce secondary school students to a relaxed and playful aspect of the research world by having them work for an entire year on a mathematical problem created for them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Functional Analysis Unit conducts various types of activities aimed at the general public through several associations and events highlighted below.
