He leads the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/algo\/en\/home\/\">Algorithms Lab<\/a> created in 2010. He is the President of the Computer Science Department.<\/p>\n<p>The main subject of his research concerns extremal graph theory. In particular, Hadrien M\u00e9lot and his collaborators study how computers can help researchers in this field to find conjectures, counterexamples or ideas for proofs (interactively or automatically). Several <a href=\"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/algo\/en\/research\/softwares\/\">tools to aid discovery<\/a> in graph theory have been (co-)developed within the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/algo\/en\/home\/\">Algorithms Lab<\/a> (e.g., GraPHedron, <a href=\"https:\/\/phoeg.umons.ac.be\">PHOEG<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/houseofgraphs.org\/\">House of Graphs<\/a>). These tools are recognized and used by the international community.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of teaching, in the Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Hadrien M\u00e9lot holds courses in <em>Algorithmics and Imperative Programming<\/em>; <em>Algorithmic Complements<\/em> and <em>Classical Approaches to Artificial Intelligence<\/em>.
