Pour le sp\u00e9cialiste, cette qu\u00eate de v\u00e9rit\u00e9 s\u2019apparente \u00e0 d\u00e9finir le geste le plus juste qui respectera l\u2019oeuvre d\u2019art et d\u2019histoire.<br \/>\nSur le continent europ\u00e9en, depuis les th\u00e9ories de John Ruskin au XIXe si\u00e8cle, \u00e0 la Charte de Venise r\u00e9dig\u00e9e en 1964 par le Conseil International des Monuments et Sites (ICOMOS), la notion d\u2019authenticit\u00e9 reste \u00e9troitement li\u00e9e \u00e0 la conservation de la substance mat\u00e9rielle du construit. Le Document de Nara qui sera r\u00e9dig\u00e9 trente ans plus tard \u00e9largira le concept en consid\u00e9rant l\u2019authenticit\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le prisme des diversit\u00e9s d\u2019interpr\u00e9tations culturelles, elles-m\u00eames fond\u00e9es sur la transmission des coutumes et des techniques immat\u00e9rielles.<br \/>\nFace \u00e0 la pluralit\u00e9 des interpr\u00e9tations, mais aussi nourrie par l\u2019\u00e9volution des pens\u00e9es et des pratiques, la qu\u00eate d\u2019authenticit\u00e9 n\u2019est-elle pas une chim\u00e8re ? Un concept discutable et relatif, notamment \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re des \u00e9l\u00e9ments d\u2019une stratification temporelle retenus pour transmettre un patrimoine aux g\u00e9n\u00e9rations futures. Par ailleurs, qu\u2019en est-il du rapport entre authenticit\u00e9 et usage de techniques modernes pour la conservation du patrimoine ?<br \/>\n\u00c0 l\u2019heure o\u00f9 la reconstruction de la cath\u00e9drale Notre-Dame de Paris est au coeur d\u2019un d\u00e9bat interdisciplinaire, \u00e9thique, id\u00e9ologique et technique, cette conf\u00e9rence sera l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 d\u2019esquisser un bilan sur la notion d\u2019authenticit\u00e9 au travers de diff\u00e9rents cas d\u2019\u00e9tudes et d\u2019interventions dans un contexte patrimonial.<\/p>\n<p>Cette conf\u00e9rence a \u00e9t\u00e9 divis\u00e9e en trois sessions th\u00e9matiques. L\u2019authenticit\u00e9 \u00e0 travers l\u2019histoire, conserver l\u2019authenticit\u00e9 et l\u2019utilisation des technicit\u00e9s d\u2019hier et d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui pour restituer ou reconstruire une authenticit\u00e9. En parall\u00e8le des pr\u00e9sentations et des d\u00e9bats, une poster session a permis aux chercheurs actifs dans le domaine du patrimoine de pr\u00e9senter l\u2019avanc\u00e9e de leurs recherches dans l\u2019une de ces trois th\u00e9matiques.
