Research activities

The Architecture and Society Unit develops transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research between architecture, urban planning, heritage and sociology.  More specifically, it focuses on new types of housing adapted to changes in society, the ability to renovate residential accommodation, the reuse of industrial sites, and the enhancement of urban images.

This research is based on thirty years of field experience. It is linked to the associative world around citizen participation and the surrounding environment. This vast amount of action research is aimed at consultation and concertation of actors with a view to urban co-production. The team has developed, and is developing, six European projects with interdisciplinary work teams.
