{"id":719,"date":"2025-06-11T13:30:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T11:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/biosciences\/?p=719"},"modified":"2025-06-11T15:43:22","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T13:43:22","slug":"les-bacteries-pourpres-un-nouvel-espoir-pour-lalimentation-durable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/biosciences\/fr\/les-bacteries-pourpres-un-nouvel-espoir-pour-lalimentation-durable\/","title":{"rendered":"Les bact\u00e9ries pourpres, un nouvel espoir pour l\u2019alimentation durable ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>L\u2019initiative Purple4Life, coordonn\u00e9e par l\u2019UMONS, avec le soutien de sa Cellule Europe, repose sur le potentiel des bact\u00e9ries pourpres, capables de transformer des co-produits agroalimentaires en compos\u00e9s \u00e0 haute valeur nutritive.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Selon Baptiste Leroy, chercheur au service de Prot\u00e9omique et Microbiologie de l\u2019UMONS (Prof. Ruddy Wattiez) : \u00ab Les bact\u00e9ries pourpres pr\u00e9sentent des taux \u00e9lev\u00e9s en prot\u00e9ines (&gt;50%) de haute qualit\u00e9 et sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9tudi\u00e9es comme alternative prot\u00e9ique. Leur avantage r\u00e9side dans leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 cro\u00eetre \u00e0 partir de nombreuses sources de carbone, notamment des co-produits industriels comme la m\u00e9lasse ou le lactos\u00e9rum \u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de leur richesse en prot\u00e9ines, ces bact\u00e9ries se distinguent par leur teneur exceptionnelle en coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) et en carot\u00e9no\u00efdes, des compos\u00e9s aux fortes propri\u00e9t\u00e9s antioxydantes, b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques pour la sant\u00e9 humaine et animale.<\/p>\n<h5>Des applications multiples pour la sant\u00e9 et l\u2019aquaculture<\/h5>\n<p>L\u2019un des axes majeurs du projet Purple4Life est d\u2019\u00e9tudier comment le Coenzyme Q10 pourrait devenir une solution alimentaire naturelle, notamment pour les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es ou en carence. En parall\u00e8le, les chercheurs s\u2019int\u00e9ressent aux carot\u00e9no\u00efdes, qui pourraient offrir une alternative durable aux additifs alimentaires actuellement utilis\u00e9s dans l\u2019aquaculture.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00ab Nous analyserons aussi les barri\u00e8res psychologiques \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de ce nouveau type d\u2019aliment \u00bb, explique Baptiste Leroy. \u00ab Par ailleurs, l\u2019usage des bact\u00e9ries pourpres comme additif pour l\u2019alimentation des salmonid\u00e9s sera test\u00e9 \u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>La r\u00e9ussite du projet d\u00e9pend d\u2019un d\u00e9fi technique majeur : atteindre une production \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle pilote d\u2019ici deux ans. Cette \u00e9tape cl\u00e9 permettra de confirmer les bienfaits des bact\u00e9ries pourpres sur la sant\u00e9 et de satisfaire aux exigences r\u00e9glementaires, conditions indispensables avant toute industrialisation.<\/p>\n<h5>Un pas vers une alimentation durable et innovante<\/h5>\n<p>En transformant des co-produits en aliments riches en nutriments, le projet Purple4Life s\u2019inscrit pleinement dans les ambitions de la strat\u00e9gie Farm to Fork et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire europ\u00e9enne. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une analyse de cycle de vie rigoureuse, les chercheurs veilleront de plus \u00e0 minimiser l\u2019impact environnemental du proc\u00e9d\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e8nement de lancement a eu lieu ces 10 et 11 juin \u00e0 l\u2019UMONS, en pr\u00e9sence de tous les partenaires du projet.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;
