Il pourrait aider \u00e0 mieux comprendre certaines alt\u00e9rations du mouvement, comme celles observ\u00e9es dans la maladie de Parkinson, o\u00f9 la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 des cycles moteurs est perturb\u00e9e. Les auteurs ont \u00e9galement montr\u00e9 qu\u2019il permet de pr\u00e9dire le comportement moteur en apesanteur, apportant un \u00e9clairage rigoureux sur l\u2019adaptation du syst\u00e8me nerveux \u00e0 des environnements extr\u00eames.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contrairement aux objets inanim\u00e9s, dont la trajectoire est dict\u00e9e par la m\u00e9canique de Newton avec comme conditions initiales la position et vitesse, les syst\u00e8mes vivants disposent d\u2019une multitude de degr\u00e9s de libert\u00e9. Un m\u00eame geste peut ainsi \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 de nombreuses fa\u00e7ons, ce qui pose une question centrale : selon quels principes le cerveau choisit-il une trajectoire plut\u00f4t qu\u2019une autre ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019\u00e9tude, publi\u00e9e dans la revue <em>Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics<\/em>, montre que certaines r\u00e9gularit\u00e9s du mouvement humain, comme la loi 2\/3 qui relie par exemple la courbure d\u2019un trait sur une feuille de papier \u00e0 la vitesse angulaire de la pointe du crayon qui dessine le trait, peuvent s\u2019expliquer en supposant que le syst\u00e8me nerveux mobilise des principes m\u00e9caniques plus riches que ceux de la m\u00e9canique newtonienne standard. Cette approche s\u2019int\u00e8gre naturellement aux mod\u00e8les de contr\u00f4le optimal aujourd\u2019hui utilis\u00e9s pour comprendre la planification motrice.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab <em>Notre travail montre qu\u2019un geste <\/em><em>volontaire n\u2019est pas seulement conditionn\u00e9 par une position et une vitesse initiales, mais qu\u2019il refl\u00e8te des contraintes m\u00e9caniques plus riches, typiques de la physique fondamentale.
