{"id":17,"date":"2021-11-03T14:13:53","date_gmt":"2021-11-03T13:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/ctph\/research-activities\/"},"modified":"2021-11-03T14:28:51","modified_gmt":"2021-11-03T13:28:51","slug":"research-activities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/ctph\/en\/research-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Research activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The main research themes of the Unit are (i) the study of natural modulators of DNA repair mechanisms; (ii) the study of compounds modulating the metabolism of bacteria (quorum sensing and biofilms) and Plasmodium, the malaria parasites; (iii) the development of a 3D neuronal culture systems to study the involvement of alkaloids of dietary and endogenous origin in essential tremors; (iv) the study of plant extracts obtained from eutectic solvents (NADES) and their bio-guided fractionation for antioxidant, antibacterial and antimalarial properties; and (v) the study in Katanga (D. R.
