Les r\u00e9sultats du projet contribuent \u00e0 l\u2019Objectif 13 du D\u00e9veloppement Durable du Programme des Nations Unies pour le d\u00e9veloppement relatif \u00e0 la lutte contre les changements climatiques, par une d\u00e9carbonisation ayant comme avantage majeur un co\u00fbt inf\u00e9rieur aux technologies utilis\u00e9es actuellement.<\/p>\n<p>Pendant les 42 mois du projet, des mat\u00e9riaux innovants et des syst\u00e8mes post-combustion efficaces de capture du CO<sub>2<\/sub> provenant d\u2019\u00e9missions industrielles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, des mat\u00e9riaux tels que des a\u00e9rogels de graph\u00e8ne modifi\u00e9s et des \u00ab\u00a0Metal-Organic Framework \u2013 MOFs\u00a0\u00bb ont montr\u00e9 des capacit\u00e9s d\u2019adsorption de CO<sub>2<\/sub> tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressantes et des s\u00e9lectivit\u00e9s sup\u00e9rieures aux adsorbants traditionnels.<\/p>\n<p>La caract\u00e9ristique distinctive de ces mat\u00e9riaux est leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 absorber les micro-ondes, ce qui permet de d\u00e9velopper un syst\u00e8me de chauffage par micro-ondes pour d\u00e9sorber le CO<sub>2<\/sub> captur\u00e9 qui consomme moins d\u2019\u00e9nergie que les syst\u00e8mes traditionnels de r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n<p>Dans la phase finale du projet, des nouvelles propri\u00e9t\u00e9s avantageuses de ces mat\u00e9riaux adsorbants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9es, notamment leur activit\u00e9 catalytique. Leur utilisation en tant que catalyseurs pour la synth\u00e8se de produits chimiques \u00e0 haute valeur ajout\u00e9e tels que des carburants, des alcools, des carbonates et des polyur\u00e9thanes rendra possible la r\u00e9utilisation du CO<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n<p>Les connaissances acquises concernant les adsorbants pour la capture de CO<sub>2<\/sub> durant ce projet fournissent des options prometteuses afin d\u2019impl\u00e9menter de nouveaux syst\u00e8mes efficaces pour r\u00e9duire significativement les \u00e9missions de CO<sub>2<\/sub> provenant de sites industriels. Une proc\u00e9dure de d\u00e9p\u00f4t de brevet concernant \u00e0 la fois les mat\u00e9riaux et le syst\u00e8me de d\u00e9sorption a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 entam\u00e9e sur base des r\u00e9sultats obtenus par plusieurs partenaires dont l\u2019UMONS.<\/p>\n<p>Ce projet, dot\u00e9 d\u2019un budget de 4,2 M\u20ac et regroupant 9 partenaires (Entreprises, Centre de Recherche et Universit\u00e9s) a \u00e9t\u00e9 impl\u00e9ment\u00e9 en collaboration avec la Cor\u00e9e du Sud. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9 par le programme de recherche et d\u2019innovation Horizon 2020 de l\u2019Union Europ\u00e9enne sur la base de l\u2019accord de subvention N\u00b0 727619.
