Financ\u00e9 par la R\u00e9gion wallonne, il offre un appui pluriannuel cons\u00e9quent \u00e0 des chercheurs (Advanced grants, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 350 000 \u20ac par an &#8211; Starting grants, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 200 000 \u20ac par an). Parmi les 12 projets retenus cette ann\u00e9e, 3 sont issus de l\u2019UMONS, confirmant la diversit\u00e9 et la pertinence des travaux de l\u2019universit\u00e9 face aux grands enjeux technologiques et soci\u00e9taux.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Trois projets UMONS parmi les 12 laur\u00e9ats<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Surveiller les batteries de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le projet de Christophe Caucheteur (Service d\u2019\u00c9lectromagn\u00e9tisme et T\u00e9l\u00e9communications), financ\u00e9 dans le cadre d\u2019un Advanced Grant, vise \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper des capteurs multiparam\u00e9triques \u00e0 fibre optique pour surveiller en temps r\u00e9el l\u2019\u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 des batteries, sans en perturber le fonctionnement. Cette approche vise \u00e0 optimiser la fiabilit\u00e9 et la dur\u00e9e de vie des syst\u00e8mes \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab <em>Ce projet permettra d\u2019optimiser diff\u00e9rents types de capteurs au sein d\u2019une m\u00eame fibre optique pour l\u2019analyse in situ de batteries<\/em>\u00bb, explique Christophe Caucheteur.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>R\u00e9cup\u00e9rer la chaleur perdue pour r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laur\u00e9at d\u2019un Starting Grant, Ward De Paepe (Service Thermique et Combustion) s\u2019attaque \u00e0 un d\u00e9fi \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique majeur : r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer la chaleur latente des gaz de combustion et, plus largement, de toute forme de fum\u00e9es en exploitant l\u2019humidification. Cette approche vise \u00e0 mieux valoriser la chaleur dite \u00ab fatale\u00bb et pourrait, \u00e0 terme, contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les pertes thermiques et les \u00e9missions de CO\u2082 dans les syst\u00e8mes de combustion.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab <em>Nous viserons \u00e0 explorer des solutions concr\u00e8tes pour valoriser une \u00e9nergie jusqu\u2019ici perdue<\/em> \u00bb, souligne Ward De Paepe.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Des nanoparticules au service de la radioth\u00e9rapie<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le projet MPOWER, men\u00e9 par Sophie Laurent (Service de Chimie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, organique et biom\u00e9dicale) et soutenu par un Advanced Grant, d\u00e9veloppe des nanoparticules d\u2019oxyde de fer dop\u00e9es par des complexes m\u00e9talliques capables d\u2019amplifier l\u2019effet th\u00e9rapeutique de la radioth\u00e9rapie tout en limitant la toxicit\u00e9 pour les tissus sains. Ces particules pr\u00e9sentent \u00e9galement un signal d\u00e9tectable en imagerie des particules magn\u00e9tiques (MPI), une technologie prometteuse pour combiner traitement et diagnostic.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab <em>Notre ambition est d\u2019amplifier les effets th\u00e9rapeutiques tout en pr\u00e9servant les tissus sains<\/em> \u00bb, indique Sophie Laurent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ces trois projets t\u00e9moignent d\u2019une recherche \u00e0 la fois ambitieuse et appliqu\u00e9e, tourn\u00e9e vers des probl\u00e9matiques actuelles : fiabilit\u00e9 et efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et am\u00e9lioration des traitements m\u00e9dicaux.
