Description

This 60-credit Master’s degree is designed to train “generalist” biologists who are able to grasp the basic scientific principles of the functioning of living organisms. University course in Laboratory Animal Science” is included in this Master’s programme. This Master’s degree does not grant access to a PhD programme, but can be completed by the AESS teacher training course (30 additional credits) to be able to teach in secondary schools.

Program and structure

The knowledge to be acquired lies at two levels of complexity of the living world: “biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology” on the one hand, and “biology of organisms and ecology” on the other. The programme consists mainly of activities taken from the first year of the 120-credit Master’s programme.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

Apply their highly specialised and integrated knowledge in the field of biology, complementing those acquired at Bachelor's level
Use their acquired professional skills according to the objectives of the degree programme
Carry out major research and development work related to biological sciences
Master communication techniques

Develop and implement a high degree of autonomy
Apply scientific methodology
Carry out animal testing.
