La reconstitution de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de Fizeau qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e entre d\u00e9cembre 2016 et mars 2017 <\/span>par l\u2019UMONS et son centre de diffusion des sciences et techniques SciTech\u00b2<\/a> entre le sommet du beffroi de Mons et le ch\u00e2ssis \u00e0 molettes du parc d\u2019aventures scientifiques de Frameries vient de conna\u00eetre un joli prolongement par le biais de la parution d\u2019un article dans la revue \u00ab Physics Education \u00bb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cette revue est un journal international qui est destin\u00e9 \u00e0 quiconque est impliqu\u00e9 dans l\u2019enseignement de la physique dans les \u00e9coles et les coll\u00e8ges. Les articles qu\u2019elle contient sont le reflet des int\u00e9r\u00eats et des besoins affich\u00e9s par les enseignants de physique dans le secondaire et leurs formateurs.
\nL\u2019article, r\u00e9dig\u00e9 en anglais, r\u00e9explique l\u2019\u00e9pop\u00e9e entourant la reconstitution de la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre exp\u00e9rience d\u2019Hippolyte Fizeau visant \u00e0 mesurer pour la premi\u00e8re fois la vitesse de la lumi\u00e8re et men\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois avec succ\u00e8s en juillet 1849 \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n

On le doit au Prof. Claude Semay, physicien \u00e0 l\u2019UMONS et pr\u00e9sident du D\u00e9partement de Physique. Ce texte vise \u00e0 permettre \u00e0 d\u2019autres dans le monde de se lancer aussi dans l\u2019aventure Fizeau, voire pourquoi pas de faire mieux que nous\u2026 c\u2019est le principe m\u00eame du partage des connaissances scientifiques !
\nOutre les grandes id\u00e9es du dispositif UMONS, l\u2019article reprend \u00e9galement les r\u00e9sultats de mesure obtenus par les \u00e9l\u00e8ves et les citoyens qui nous ont rendu visite au beffroi. Les Montois avaient donc red\u00e9couvert pour la vitesse de la lumi\u00e8re une valeur de : c= 298 500 km\/s, avec une marge d\u2019erreur exceptionnellement basse de 3,3% !<\/p>\n
