Description

This 120-credit Master’s degree in Management offers future graduates management training through courses in finance, marketing, accounting, law, etc., as well as in highly sought-after disciplines on the job market, such as auditing, entrepreneurship, etc. The specialist focus opens the doors to all management functions in private companies and public organisations. 

Access conditions

The 120-credit Master’s degree in Management (specialist focus) is accessible to students with a Bachelor’s in Management, a Bachelor’s in Economics and Management, or a Bachelor’s in Business Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Some students will have to take extra courses beforehand in order to have the pre-requisites necessary for the course. 

Target audience

Students with a Bachelor’s in Management or Economics and Management can also register on the Master’s course. Students who have graduated from another type of higher education institution with a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree can also apply for this Master’s programme.

Program and structure

The specialised Master’s degree, which is organised as a daytime course, offers 5 courses of study which complement the core curriculum. A course of study comprises several courses in one or more areas of management grouped together that meet the expectations of the professional world. Languages are also part of the core curriculum and are taught in both blocks. They include communication courses and seminars in English and Dutch or Spanish. A dissertation is also part of the core curriculum of the second block of the Master’s programme. 

Distribution of Credits 

The Master’s in Management (specialist focus) is composed of a core curriculum of 30 credits in block 1 and 40 credits in block 2 (including the placement and dissertation). It also includes a complementary course of study of 50 credits (30 credits in block 1 and 20 credits in block 2).

Students on this 120-credit Master’s programme must choose one of the following 5 possible courses of study: 

  • Marketing and HR Management 
  • Finance and Entrepreneurship 
  • Finance and Banking 
  • Finance and HR Management 
  • Auditing and Reviewing

Teaching profile

The programme description defines the expected learning outcomes, i.e. what the student should know, understand and be able to achieve by the end of a learning activity, a teaching unit or a study cycle (Bachelor's, Master's, etc.). Learning outcomes are defined in terms of knowledge, expertise and soft skills.   

At the end of the Master's, students will be able to: 

  • Mobilise expertise in at least one area of management.    
  • Communicate and present original work in a professional manner both orally and in writing.   
  • Act in an international and multicultural context.  
  • Collaborate within a team and exercise leadership.   
  • Prioritise responsible management practices. 
  • Actively and effectively master knowledge in the different areas of management and use them effectively in a professional context.  
  • Be independent and regularly adapt to new contexts. 
  • Understand the interactions between the company and its socio-economic environment.
