Une \u00e9quipe compos\u00e9e de Tanguy Vansnick (UMONS, Belgique), Matthias Seiler (Allemagne), Aldan Creo (Irlande), et Arijit Samal (Espagne) a remport\u00e9 trois prix lors du HackUPC 2024, l\u2019un des plus grands hackathons universitaires d\u2019Europe, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 Kl\u00ecnic, une plateforme int\u00e9gr\u00e9e facilitant l’exploration des essais cliniques pour les chercheurs et les cliniciens. HackUPC rassemblait cette ann\u00e9e plus de 750 participants.<\/p>\n

\n

\u00ab\u00a0Notre objectif \u00e9tait de construire quelque chose de fonctionnel en un temps r\u00e9duit et de d\u00e9couvrir de nouvelles technologies<\/em> \u00bb, explique Tanguy Vansnick, doctorant \u00e0 l\u2019UMONS.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Le projet que nous avons d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pourrait avoir des applications pratiques, car \u00e0 notre connaissance, personne n\u2019a utilis\u00e9 cette m\u00e9thode avec des LLM – Large Language Model \/mod\u00e8le de langage de grande taille – auparavant. <\/em>J’ai form\u00e9 une \u00e9quipe sur place, ce qui signifie que je ne connaissais pas mes partenaires avant l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement\u00a0<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kl\u00ecnic, une technologie au service de la recherche biom\u00e9dicale<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Le but de Kl\u00ecnic est d’aider les cliniciens et les chercheurs \u00e0 obtenir facilement un aper\u00e7u du paysage des essais cliniques dans un domaine particulier.<\/p>\n

Pour utiliser Kl\u00ecnic, les cliniciens doivent fournir une description g\u00e9n\u00e9rale d’une maladie (exemple\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0une maladie qui affecte les jeunes patients, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de sexe masculin\u00a0\u00bb). Gr\u00e2ce aux repr\u00e9sentations vectorielles de ces descriptions, Kl\u00ecnic identifie les maladies dont les caract\u00e9ristiques sont les plus similaires \u00e0 celles d\u00e9crites. Ensuite, un graphe de connaissances est utilis\u00e9 pour repr\u00e9senter les relations entre ces maladies, permettant de trouver celles qui sont les plus pertinentes pour l’utilisateur.<\/p>\n

\n

\u00ab\u00a0Kl\u00ecnic permet une augmentation des donn\u00e9es en trouvant davantage d’essais cliniques associ\u00e9s aux maladies d’int\u00e9r\u00eat. Un mod\u00e8le de langage de grande taille (LLM) est utilis\u00e9 pour r\u00e9sumer les informations des essais cliniques et extraire des donn\u00e9es num\u00e9riques cruciales<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb. Une approche int\u00e9gr\u00e9e qui facilite l’acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des informations essentielles, optimisant ainsi le travail des cliniciens et des chercheurs.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0J’ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 participer \u00e0 des hackathons il y a un an maintenant<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb, poursuit Tanguy. \u00ab\u00a0C’est une excellente mani\u00e8re de d\u00e9couvrir de nouvelles technologies et de mettre en \u0153uvre des id\u00e9es innovantes mais aussi de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d’un soutien constant de la part des sponsors \u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Une th\u00e8se de doctorat entre l\u2019intelligence artificielle et le domaine m\u00e9dical<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Tanguy a d\u00e9but\u00e9 sa th\u00e8se de doctorat \u00e0 l\u2019UMONS fin 2023. Il travaille sur la cr\u00e9ation de mod\u00e8les d’intelligence artificielle multimodaux d\u00e9di\u00e9s au diagnostic et au suivi m\u00e9dical dans le domaine des maladies neurod\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratives et psychiatriques. Parall\u00e8lement, il s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 l’aspect s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et confidentialit\u00e9 des mod\u00e8les et des donn\u00e9es, notamment en explorant les applications avec la Blockchain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
