Artificial Intelligence) was designed by <a href=\"http:\/\/trail.ac\">TRAIL<\/a>. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">TRAIL brings together the five French-speaking universities and the four approved Walloon research centers (CRA). <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Its ambition is to pool research in artificial intelligence in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">ARIAC project is articulated around 5 Work Packages:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Human-AI Interaction,<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Trust mechanisms for AI,<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Model-AI integration,<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Optimized AI implementations,<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">TRAIL Factory<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">With an increasing install base of sensors collecting data with high temporal resolution, a huge amount of raw data need to be transferred to a backend system. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In many industrial use cases, this is challenging but most of the time doable. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">As soon as devices (often resource-constrained) are in the field though, sending high-frequency data in real-time via a mobile connection becomes very challenging and expensive.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">One way to facilitate data transfer from the edge to a central backend is to compress the data before sending it. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Recently, several algorithms have been proposed to handle compression of time series on constrained devices. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In our presentation, we will give an overview of different classes of compression methods and their application in industrial use cases.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span (UCLouvain) <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">We present a new, simple and effective method for forming &lsquo;sparse&rsquo; neural networks. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Our method is based on a differentiation of the front and rear paths: the weights in the front path are a thresholded version of the weights maintained in the rear path. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This decoupling allows micro-updates, produced by gradient descent, to add up; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">thus leading to the possible reactivation of weights that have been set to zero before during training. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">At the end of the training, the links with zero weights are &lsquo;pruned&rsquo;.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">3:00 p.m.: style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The topic proposed for a short presentation would present the main ideas of a paper that has just been accepted for a conference. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This focuses on the combination of detection and classification of multiple bats in audio recordings. <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The challenge is that the datasets available for this task are either for detection or uni-label classification, but not for their combination. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Indeed, the labels of the available datasets indicate either only the positions of the calls in the recordings, or only the species that is heard in a file. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In addition, it is rare to find datasets with labels to make multi-label classification of bat calls.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">So we show how we manage to do both detection and multi-label classification by creating artificial labels based on those commonly available. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">We also show how we evaluate the performance of the model designed not only on the generated dataset, but also on the basis of the available hard-labels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">3:30 p.m.: No\u00e9 Tits: (Flowchase) <\/span><\/span><br
