Dans ces environnements complexes, les dispositifs existants peuvent manquer de flexibilit\u00e9 ou pr\u00e9senter des risques pour les tissus environnants.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ce d\u00e9fi que le projet SAM3, Soft Active Matter Microrobots for Medicine, propose de d\u00e9velopper des microrobots : des dispositifs robotiques miniaturis\u00e9s capables d\u2019\u00eatre contr\u00f4l\u00e9s avec pr\u00e9cision \u00e0 tr\u00e8s petite \u00e9chelle. L\u2019originalit\u00e9 du projet r\u00e9side dans les mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s pour les concevoir.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Des microrobots con\u00e7us \u00e0 partir de mat\u00e9riaux intelligents<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Les chercheurs travailleront sur des polym\u00e8res souples et actifs, capables de s\u2019adapter \u00e0 leur environnement, de r\u00e9agir \u00e0 des stimuli externes et de produire un mouvement contr\u00f4l\u00e9. \u00c0 terme, ces propri\u00e9t\u00e9s pourraient permettre d\u2019imaginer de nouvelles approches pour diagnostiquer ou traiter certaines pathologies dans des zones difficiles d\u2019acc\u00e8s du corps humain.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00ab Pour que les microrobots puissent \u00e9voluer dans des environnements aussi complexes que le corps humain, il faut repenser leur conception d\u00e8s le mat\u00e9riau qui les compose. C\u2019est cette approche que nous souhaitons d\u00e9velopper avec SAM3<\/em> \u00bb, souligne Jean-Marie Raquez, chef du Service des Mat\u00e9riaux Polym\u00e8res et Composites de l\u2019UMONS.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h5><strong>Former une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de chercheurs<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de ses ambitions scientifiques, SAM3 est \u00e9galement un projet de formation. Douze doctorantes et doctorants seront recrut\u00e9s au sein du r\u00e9seau et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront d\u2019un encadrement interdisciplinaire associant science des mat\u00e9riaux, microrobotique, g\u00e9nie et m\u00e9decine, avec une exposition directe aux besoins du monde clinique et industriel.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019obtention de ce projet s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre d\u2019appels europ\u00e9ens particuli\u00e8rement comp\u00e9titifs. Sa pr\u00e9paration a b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de l\u2019accompagnement de la Cellule Europe de l\u2019UMONS, qui soutient les \u00e9quipes de recherche dans le montage de projets et la construction de consortiums internationaux.<\/p>\n<p><em>Le projet SAM3 est financ\u00e9 par l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne dans le cadre du programme Horizon Europe &#8211; Action Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN). Coordonn\u00e9 par l\u2019UMONS, le consortium r\u00e9unit l\u2019Universit\u00e9 libre de Bruxelles (ULB), le Laboratorio Europeo di Spettroscopie Non Lineari (LENS, Italie), la Scuola Superiore Sant\u2019Anna (Italie), l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Marie et Louis Pasteur (France), l\u2019Empa (Suisse) et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Twente (Pays-Bas). Le r\u00e9seau associe \u00e9galement plusieurs partenaires industriels, dont des start-ups et entreprises sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, ainsi que des acteurs cliniques tels que l\u2019H\u00f4pital Erasme (ULB) et le Centre hospitalier r\u00e9gional universitaire de Besan\u00e7on (CHRU).
