Within the framework of the European Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie INSPIRE project (grant agreement INSPIRE-813424; https:\/\/itn-inspire.eu\/<\/a>), the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Dynamics and Vibrations welcomed Professor Konstantinos Vogiatzis, from the University<\/a><\/span><\/span> of Thessaly<\/a> (Greece) during the week of May 31 to June 3.<\/span><\/span> Prof.<\/span><\/span> Vogiatzis has worked in recent years on railway mitigation measures to limit the vibrations generated by rail traffic, including floating slabs.<\/span><\/span> His visit allowed fruitful exchanges with the members of the Department, in particular on the use of meta-materials as an anti-vibration system, a research subject of the INSPIRE project.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
