interdisciplinarity<\/li>\n<li>Prioritise collaborative research and co-development<\/li>\n<li>Rely on partnerships with all sectors of society (industries, services, research centres, governmental institutions, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Bring together provincial, regional, federal, European and international partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Institute is active in setting up research projects, with its partners, which respond to the emerging problems linked to the Institute\u2019s field.<\/p>\n<p>Below you can find a list of some key projects, which highlight some of the issues our researchers     \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<p>Development of\u00a0<strong>nanoparticles for the early detection and analysis of atheroma through MRI and optical imaging<\/strong>\u00a0(non-invasive method, not using ionising radiation, with excellent resolution).<\/p>\n            \t<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n            <div class=\"accordion-bellow\">\n                <button class=\"accordion-bellow-toggle scheme-background-hover\" data-target=\"#accordion-content-615da1fec95f5\">\n                    <span class=\"icon umons-icon-chevron-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span> PROSTEM (RW)                <\/button>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"accordion-content-615da1fec95f5\" class=\"accordion-content\">\n            \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<p>In collaboration with the Biosciences Institute, this project focuses on the development of\u00a0<strong>new biomaterials<\/strong>\u00a0to reduce the cost, and increase the efficiency, of\u00a0<strong>cell therapies<\/strong>\u00a0using\u00a0<strong>stem cells<\/strong>\u00a0in order to make them more accessible to patients.<\/p>\n            \t<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n            <div class=\"accordion-bellow\">\n                <button class=\"accordion-bellow-toggle scheme-background-hover\" data-target=\"#accordion-content-615da20ba2d4e\">\n                    <span class=\"icon umons-icon-chevron-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span> PROTHER-WAL (RW)                <\/button>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"accordion-content-615da20ba2d4e\" class=\"accordion-content\">\n            \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<h2>PROton THErapy Research in WALlonia.<\/h2>\n<p>Implementation of a proton therapy platform in Wallonia, which aims to be an internationally renowned inter-university research centre, a successful health centre, a training centre and a centre for technological and industrial developments.<\/p>\n            \t<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n            <div class=\"accordion-bellow\">\n                <button class=\"accordion-bellow-toggle scheme-background-hover\" data-target=\"#accordion-content-615da2233562f\">\n                    <span class=\"icon umons-icon-chevron-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span> TEXTOS (UE RW\/Interreg)                <\/button>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"accordion-content-615da2233562f\" class=\"accordion-content\">\n            \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<p>The aim of this project is to\u00a0<strong>design woven supports (using 3D weaving techniques) for bone regeneration<\/strong>\u00a0using polyester yarns and supplemented with bioceramics and coated with chitosan.<\/p>\n            \t<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n            <div class=\"accordion-bellow\">\n                <button class=\"accordion-bellow-toggle scheme-background-hover\" data-target=\"#accordion-content-615da2373bd93\">\n                    <span class=\"icon umons-icon-chevron-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span> VIVOIMAG (UE\/H2020)                <\/button>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"accordion-content-615da2373bd93\" class=\"accordion-content\">\n            \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<p>The aim of this project is to prepare bone scaffolds integrating a magnetically functionalised extracellular matrix material (MFEM) that can be used to follow the implanted material\u00a0<em>in vivo<\/em>\u00a0using non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging techniques.<\/p>\n            \t<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n            <div class=\"accordion-bellow\">\n                <button class=\"accordion-bellow-toggle scheme-background-hover\" data-target=\"#accordion-content-615da252a15d2\">\n                    <span class=\"icon umons-icon-chevron-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span> I SAID (UE RW\/Interreg)                <\/button>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"accordion-content-615da252a15d2\" class=\"accordion-content\">\n            \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<p>The objective of the project is to develop\u00a0<strong>support<\/strong>\u00a0methods for\u00a0<strong>people with mental disabilities<\/strong>\u00a0via a cross-border partnership platform to support social and professional life.<\/p>\n            \t<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n                <div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n            <div class=\"accordion-bellow\">\n                <button class=\"accordion-bellow-toggle scheme-background-hover\" data-target=\"#accordion-content-615da2710b2bd\">\n                    <span class=\"icon umons-icon-chevron-down\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span> Dys-moi pour l\u2019Emploi (UE)                <\/button>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"accordion-content-615da2710b2bd\" class=\"accordion-content\">\n            \t<div class=\"inner editor-front\">\n            \t\t<p>This project aims to promote the transition to employment for youths in Hainaut (16-25 years) who have specific learning disabilities, encouraging their social and professional integration by offering new methods of support.
