Conseil de l\u2019Europe,<br \/>\n2018).<\/p>\n<p>Depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, la facult\u00e9 de Traduction et d&rsquo;Interpr\u00e9tation (FTI-EII) de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Mons permet \u00e0<br \/>\nses \u00e9tudiants d\u2019exp\u00e9rimenter l&rsquo;apprentissage d&rsquo;une langue \u00e9trang\u00e8re par \u00ab immersion \u00bb dans des projets<br \/>\nth\u00e9\u00e2traux, en anglais ou dans d\u2019autres langues \u00e9trang\u00e8res. Ces projets constituent des points de ralliement et<br \/>\nde rep\u00e8re dans le parcours de nombre d\u2019\u00e9tudiants, car<\/p>\n<p>drama cultivates the development of learner\u2019s emotions, social skills and participation in the<br \/>\ncommunity by providing a more holistic view of foreign language learning. (Uysal &amp; Yavuz, 2018 : 376)<\/p>\n<p>La journ\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9tudes organis\u00e9e \u00e0 Mons (Belgique) se voudrait un temps d\u2019exploration consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 cette vis\u00e9e<br \/>\nplus holistique. Dans ce cadre, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e8nement accueillera une conf\u00e9rence de Jo\u00eblle Aden (universit\u00e9 Paris-Est<br \/>\nCr\u00e9teil), \u00e0 propos de \u00ab Th\u00e9\u00e2tre et mati\u00e8re sonore des langues : vers une p\u00e9dagogie enactive-performative \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Afin de mettre en lumi\u00e8re le d\u00e9veloppement de connaissances et d\u2019habilet\u00e9s auquel m\u00e8nent ces projets, la<br \/>\njourn\u00e9e visera \u00e9galement \u00e0 donner la parole \u00e0 leurs initiateurs et moteurs (enseignantes et enseignants,<br \/>\n\u00e9tudiants et \u00e9tudiantes qui y ont pris part), et \u00e0 permettre des \u00e9changes avec d\u2019autres projets d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s dans<br \/>\nd\u2019autres institutions d\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur. Mais il s\u2019agira aussi, dans un second temps, d\u2019articuler ces<br \/>\nretours d\u2019exp\u00e9riences aux propositions, analyses et conclusions de chercheurs, enseignants et doctorants qui<br \/>\ns\u2019int\u00e9ressent \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9gration de ces pratiques dans l\u2019enseignement d\u2019une langue \u00e9trang\u00e8re \u2013 en particulier<br \/>\nl\u2019anglais (ESL\/EFL), le fran\u00e7ais (FLE\/FLS) ou l\u2019espagnol (ELE).<\/p>\n<p>Les interventions (communication ou \u00ab poster \u00bb) aborderont de pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence la sollicitation d\u2019un ancrage<br \/>\ncorporel, de la voix et du rythme, ou la dimension des textes et des supports verbaux exploit\u00e9s. Les questions<br \/>\ntrait\u00e9es pourront \u00eatre, entre autres :<br \/>\n&#8211; Comment et pourquoi pr\u00e9parer les \u00e9tudiants \u00e0 se projeter, du point de vue de la voix et du corps, dans<br \/>\nl\u2019incarnation d\u2019une parole en LE ?<br \/>\n&#8211; Quels questionnements, par rapport \u00e0 quels aspects de la LE (prononciation, niveaux-registres,<br \/>\nr\u00e9f\u00e9rences socio-culturelles\u2026), apparaissent dans l\u2019appropriation de tel ou tel mat\u00e9riau langagier,<br \/>\ndurant la mise en \u0153uvre de tel ou tel projet ?<br \/>\n&#8211; Comment les enseignants, ou le groupe, op\u00e8rent-ils un choix de texte ou de support verbal ? En<br \/>\nfonction de quels objectifs et de quelles attentes, dans l\u2019apprentissage de telle ou telle langue ?<br \/>\n&#8211; Quelle pertinence apparait dans une proposition de texte dramatique ou de mat\u00e9riau langagier, par<br \/>\nrapport \u00e0 tel ou tel objectif ? Council of Europe, 2018).<\/p>\n<p>For several years, UMONS\u2019s Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI-EII) has been offering students the chance to experience foreign language learning through &lsquo;immersion&rsquo; in theatre projects in English, FLE or other foreign languages. These projects act as rallying points and landmarks in the careers of many students: \u00ab\u00a0drama cultivates the development of learner&rsquo;s emotions, social skills and participation in the community by providing a more holistic view of foreign language learning.\u00a0\u00bb (Uysal &amp; Yavuz, 2018: 376)<\/p>\n<p>This One-Day Conference (organised in Mons, May 14, 2024, 8:45-4:30) will be a time of exploration devoted to this more holistic approach. As part of this, we will be hosting a conference by Jo\u00eblle Aden (Universit\u00e9 Paris-Est Cr\u00e9teil), on the subject of \u00ab\u00a0Th\u00e9\u00e2tre et mati\u00e8re sonore des langues : vers une p\u00e9dagogie enactive-performative\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>To showcase the development of knowledge and skills fostered by such projects, this study day will aim, firstly, to provide a platform for their key participants \u2013the teachers and students involved\u2013 and to enable exchanges with other projects developed in other higher education institutions. In a second phase, however, the aim will be to connect this feedback with the proposals, analyses and conclusions of researchers, teachers and doctoral students who are interested in integrating these practices into foreign language teaching, with a specific focus on English (ESL\/EFL), French (FLE), or Spanish (ELE).<\/p>\n<p>Proposals for presentations (lasting around twenty minutes or in poster format) should preferably focus on aspects such as the use of the body, voice and rhythm, or on the texts and verbal supports that are used. Key questions may include<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0How and why should students be prepared to project themselves, in voice and body, into the embodiment of a speech in a foreign language?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0What language-related issues (e.g., pronunciation, register levels, socio-cultural references) emerge in the implementation of a given project and the assimilation of specific language materials?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0How do teachers, or groups, choose a text or verbal support, regarding the objectives and expectations in terms of language learning?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0What is the relevance, or any unexpected deviations, of a chosen dramatic text or language material concerning the intended goals?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0How can the choice of text or medium account for students\u2019 language proficiency levels and progression in their language learning?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Has there been any evolution, in the history of teaching foreign language (recent or more distant), in the types of dramatic texts or textual materials used in these activities, for various groups of learners?<\/p>\n<p>Call for papers\/posters (deadline : January 15, 2024)<\/p>\n<p>Researchers, PhD Students and Teachers wishing to submit a paper (20 minutes, in French or English) or poster (in French, English or Spanish, accompanied by a 4-6 minutes presentation) should send their proposal to<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; to <a href=\"mailto:marina.gioiella@umons.ac.be\">marina.gioiella@umons.ac.be<\/a> AND <a href=\"mailto:estelle.mathey@umons.ac.be\">estelle.mathey@umons.ac.be<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; by sending an email with the subject line \u00ab\u00a0MONS 14 mai 2024\u00a0\u00bb;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; including in the body of the email: the title of the proposal, the desired format (paper or poster), the four or five key words, the name of the author and his\/her institutional affiliation.<\/p>\n<p>The proposals themselves will be presented in a PDF document attached to the e-mail &#8211; a PDF document which will contain no mention of the name or affiliation of the author.
