Cet article questionne un allant-de-soi en formation par simulation : la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019un d\u00e9briefing cons\u00e9cutif \u00e0 la mise en situation simul\u00e9e. Nous analysons d&rsquo;abord deux principes fondamentaux du d\u00e9briefing. Nous analysons ensuite des donn\u00e9es empiriques sur l\u2019activit\u00e9 et l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de participants \u00e0 deux types de formation par simulation dans des domaines \u00e0 enjeux de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 (protection de la population et transport ferroviaire). Les sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s \u00e9tudi\u00e9es sont les suivantes : (i) la premi\u00e8re ne comportait pas de d\u00e9briefing \u00e0 vocation formative, et (ii) la seconde comportait un d\u00e9briefing \u00e0 contenu, format, et dur\u00e9e variables, selon l&rsquo;appr\u00e9ciation situ\u00e9e du formateur. Malgr\u00e9 cette faible importance accord\u00e9e au d\u00e9briefing, de nombreuses configurations favorables \u00e0 la dimension constructive de l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 des participants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es et d\u00e9crites en cours de simulation. Nous les explicitons et les analysons relativement \u00e0 trois fonctions typiquement d\u00e9volues au d\u00e9briefing (l\u2019examen r\u00e9trospectif et critique des \u00e9v\u00e9nements et des op\u00e9rations, la fabrique du travail collectif, et la dimension transformative de l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 pass\u00e9e vers l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 future). Nous abordons en discussion les implications possibles pour la pratique.
