{"id":17,"date":"2021-11-02T11:12:45","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T10:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/spcn\/research-activities\/"},"modified":"2021-11-03T13:35:54","modified_gmt":"2021-11-03T12:35:54","slug":"research-activities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.umons.ac.be\/spcn\/en\/research-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Research activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Unit\u2019s research themes are organised around two axes, neuropsychology and cognitive psychopathology.<\/p>\n<p>Research in clinical neuropsychology focuses on the study of the development and cognitive functioning of individuals, whether healthy or with neuropsychological or neurodegenerative disorders, from childhood to old age. Amongst the numerous studies carried out on this theme, two cognitive skills are particularly studied: language, and more broadly both verbal and non-verbal communication, and attentional and executive functions, as well as the links between these functions. Secondly, research in cognitive psychopathology aims to examine the deficits and biases affecting the cognitive functions of patients suffering from affective disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia etc).
