Biology of Marine Organisms and Biomimetics Unit

The research activities developed by the Biology of Marine Organisms and Biomimetics Unit (Research Institute for Biosciences, University of Mons, Belgium) are structured on four main themes:

• symbioses and diseases,
• biological materials and biomimetics,
• socio-ecological aquacultures, and
• photobiology.

​This website informs you about the activities of the laboratory and about the team members and their scientific publications. It also presents the courses in marine biology organized at UMONS. These courses aim at the formation of experts in the marine environment by delivering the knowledge necessary to apprehend this ecosystem as well as by teaching the analytical techniques required to study its inhabitants.
