Cardiology Unit

The Cardiology Department of UMONS is a research group attached to the SANTE Institute, focusing on cardiovascular diseases and interactions between accelerated atheromatosis and cancers.

Our latest project is testing the cardiotoxicity of certain anti-cancer treatments on in vitro cardiac spheroids developed in the laboratory. The initial results (and those to follow) are available by clicking here.

The Cardiology Department is also the seat of the “CoeurCoreLab”, a laboratory for medical imaging analysis and clinical research.

Finally, we are developing a collection of clinical cases of complex coronary revascularization procedures demonstrating the importance of intravascular imaging for educational purposes. These are available by clicking here.
