Teaching activities

The Unit’s teaching responsibilities include running the entire Chinese module for the Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting, as well as for the Master’s degree in Translation (specialist and research focuses) at the FTI-EII. As such, it provides Mandarin Chinese language courses (from beginner to advanced levels), introductory courses on the geography, history and civilisation of ancient and contemporary China, and oral and written translation between Chinese and French. In addition to the learning activities in this main curriculum, the Unit also offers a range of additional optional courses for both students of Chinese (Introduction to Classical Chinese, Intensive Reading of Chinese Texts) and for non-specialists of East Asia (Chinese as a third language, Japanese as a third language, Introduction to the history and culture of the Chinese world, Introduction to Japanese civilisation and culture).
