Effective Mathematics Unit

Analyzing, understanding, and controlling complex systems through the formal prism of mathematics and computer science.

The Effective Mathematics unit is a research group at the crossroad between mathematics and computer science, led by Thomas Brihaye (Full Professor, unit chief) and Mickaël Randour (F.R.S.-FNRS Research Associate, Assistant Professor). We are interested in the analysis, understanding, and control of complex systems, in various fields (computer science, economics, health, etc). Our skills are related to formal methods, game theory, artificial intelligence, and optimization.
