Computational Medicine and Neuropsychiatry Unit

The Unit of Computational Medicine and Neuropsychiatry at the University of Mons is positioned at the intersection of medicine, neuroscience and information technology. Our mission is to push the boundaries of research and innovation in all areas of health (with a particular focus on mental health), using computational approaches to better understand and treat disorders. Within our department, we combine clinical expertise and computational modeling. Using computational methods (such as artificial intelligence), we investigate a wide range of clinical areas, starting from psychiatry and touching on clinical medicine, medical imaging, surgery, anesthesiology. We collaborate closely with researchers, clinicians, and academic institutions around the world, in order to translate scientific discoveries into concrete clinical applications.

The unit is headed by Prof. Giovanni Briganti, MD, PhD (Head of Department).

The department is involved in teaching within the framework of the Bachelor's and Master's degrees of the Faculty of Medicine and in particular the Bachelor of Medicine and the Master of Medicine. We invite researchers, students, and institutional partners to collaborate with us to advance science in the service of health.
