Fernando Vieira Costa Jr, who joined our department in October 2023, will not have needed his three years of postdoctoral experience with us to secure a permanent position.

After several selection trials, Fernando Vieira Costa Jr has succeeded in securing a permanent position as Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraíba located in João Pessoa, Brazil. He will therefore leave Mons (and his scarf) as early as March to fly to Brazil, his homeland. Even though his time in our department has been cut short, it has allowed us to better understand the unexpected connection between fractal dimension and common hypercyclicity. We wish him every success in all his forthcoming projects.
