Benkedadra, ISIA researcher, co-presented about ""AI models for the detection of 2D/3D dangerous actions for the security of workers in railway sites at Infrabel" on 19/5/2022.
  • Time: Thursday, May 19 12:30
  • Location : Auditorium 05, Houdain Site. Polytechnic Faculty
  • Speakers : Mohamed Benkedadra (ILIA & ISIA) and Otmane Amel (ILIA) – FPMS
  • Title : ” InfraSecure : AI models for the detection of 2D/3D dangerous actions for the security of workers in railway sites at Infrabel”
  • Summary : during this presentation, we present the results of our UMONS-Infrabel service mission, which is part of Infrabel’s desire to make construction sites as safe as possible and preserve workers working in dangerous environments. The research aims to use new artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies to ensure sustained and effective monitoring of potentially hazardous areas, a task that is difficult for humans to perform effectively. During this mission, we developed two solutions, the first is based on the analysis of distances between detected dangerous 3D objects (excavators, train rails, etc.) and workers using ZED2 cameras. The second solution relies on the exploitation of a database of annotated and mixed actions (composed of real and artificial scenes) to generate an explainable deep learning model for the detection of dangerous actions. The experimental results demonstrated the relevance of both approaches with an accuracy of up to 90% for the rate of good detection of 2D/3D dangerous actions.
  • UMONS Coordinators : Sidi Ahmed Mahmoudi (ILIA) and Matei Mancas (ISIA)
