New paper in Collaboration with Guy Koeckelberghs
New just accepted paper in Macromolecules with our longtime collaborator Guy Koeckelberghs.
This work presents the controlled synthesis and characterization of star shaped poly(3-alkylthiophene) (P3AT). The perfect control over the synthesis was mostly confirmed by MALDI mass spectrometry. The originality of this study was the synthesis of controlled star-shaped polymers (P3AT) presenting the formation of a strong (chiral) supramolecular organization into fibers, different and stronger obtained with the linear P3ATs. Those results are confirmed by the combination of UV-vis, circular dichroism (CD), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements. Furthermore, the particular supramolecular organization of the star-shaped polymers which appears thanks to the precision polymer synthesis, triggers properties of the arms of the star-shaped-molecule that are not present in the individual arms.
