Within the framework of the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie INSPIRE project (grant agreement INSPIRE-813424; https://itn-inspire.eu/), the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Dynamics and Vibrations welcomed Professor Konstantinos Vogiatzis, from the University of Thessaly (Greece) during the week of May 31 to June 3. Prof. Vogiatzis has worked in recent years on railway mitigation measures to limit the vibrations generated by rail traffic, including floating slabs. His visit allowed fruitful exchanges with the members of the Department, in particular on the use of meta-materials as an anti-vibration system, a research subject of the INSPIRE project.
