On January 30th 2020, the 14th meeting of the FNRS contact group “oxidative Processes and antioxidants” took place at UMONS. The focus was on “oxidative stress, redox regulation and cell fate”.

We were honored with the presence of two invited lecturers : Professors Haike ANTELMANN (Freie Universität Berlin) and Marc DIEDERICH (Seoul National University).

All participants had the opportunity to present their results during the poster sessions or the short-communication session.

    While male contraceptive options remain very limited today, a thesis co-funded by CHU HELORA and UMONS is opening up a novel avenue of research. Led by Sammy Ellatiff, within the Therapeutic Chemistry and Pharmacognosy and Cell Biology departments at UMONS, in collaboration with the Fertility Clinic of CHU HELORA, this project explores the potential of compounds derived from a medicinal plant to develop a non-hormonal method.
