Sarah Descamps
Research Assistant – PhD Student
A teacher of human sciences (history, geography and social sciences) by training, Sarah Descamps continued her studies in Educational Sciences, specializing in educational technologies.
Since January 2018, she has held a research assistant position at the University of Mons in the Pedagogical Engineering and Educational Digital Department. Initially, she worked on digital education by identifying devices developing digital skills. Then, she was attached to a working group on “education in human and social sciences, philosophy and citizenship”. Her role was to give a digital dimension to this consortium by working on online information research, continuing the work of identifying devices specifically for this discipline and carrying out workshops for teachers in initial training.
She participated in the Erasmus+ Conecte project in partnership with Lebanon to train them and help them design virtual learning environments, as well as the Teach Transition project which led to the creation of the Digital University Certificate for Adult Education and Training . Since 2023, she has been participating in the Erasmus+ HayKa research project which aims to strengthen Malagasy doctoral research for a sustainable future.
As part of her doctoral research, environmental protection as a digital skill, education for digital sobriety and deciphering greenwashing are also part of her research areas in educational sciences. As part of her thesis, she designed the EducoNetImpact digital sobriety education pedagogical guide which won the 2023 UNESCO Prize for the use of ICT in education . Since 2024, she has been collaborating with Eurometropolitan e-campus as part of the Smart@School Plus Project which aims to raise awareness and train teachers in primary, secondary and higher education in the rational use of digital tools.
