  • Type
    Doctorate

Description

Verbs of position are more frequent in Dutch than in French. Subsequently, there existe several quite important differences between the semantic functioning of these verbs in both languages, which are almost not described or theorised. Moreover, several of these divergences have an impact on the L2 acquisition in French and Dutch. This project has the aim to offer a detailed contrastive description of the verbs of position in French and Dutch in L1 and L2. Therefore, it is important to adopt an original interdisciplinary research method including semantics, corpus linguistics and French and Dutch language learning.
