Research activities

Pascal Damman’s research group focuses their activities on the fundamental understanding of soft matter through experiments, simulations and statistical physics, on Self-organization from geometrically constrained sheets, rods, ribbons, shells and the biomechanics of living organisms.

Sylvain Gabriele’s research group seeks to understand the basic physical principles underlying force transmission and elucidating how cell mechanical properties regulate cellular functions. Our experimental approach of cell mechanics takes advantage of physical chemistry of soft condensed matter and engineering sciences to address physiological questions at single-cell and tissue levels.
