Major Risk Research Centre
For nearly 25 years, the Major Risk Research Centre (MRRC) has focused its activities on the control of technological risk. Its main competencies are the study and modelling of major accident scenarios, land use planning around SEVESO companies, emergency planning and hazardous material transportation.
The Acoustics Laboratory of the General Physics Unit’s work in fighting against noise pollution has been accredited by the Région wallonne. It is accredited for all categories of projects, as described by the governmental decree of 1st July 2010 outlining the conditions and procedures concerning the approval of laboratories and organisations in the field of noise.
Created in 2006 in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering of Mons, MoDyVA offers expertise and advice in acoustics and vibrations.
