Appel à candidature doctorat
English version below
Titre de la thèse : Investigating how alternative semantic memory care programs moderate the decline of lexico-semantic disorders in Alzheimer’s disease
Promoteur : Isabelle SIMOES LOUREIRO, PhD, Cognitive psychology and Neuropsychology Department, FPSE, UMONS
Objective: The general aim of this research is to develop better semantic memory care strategies for Alzheimer’s disease patients (AD). Indeed, semantic memory loss in AD has a major impact on life quality. When loosing words and their sense, AD patients progressively loose communication and interactions with their environment. Also, language difficulties ineluctably worsen with the evolution of the disease but can be moderate by care strategies. More specific aims of our research are to compare different semantic memory care programs (« Semantic Features Analysis” therapy, sensorimotor stimulation therapy and mixed interventions) to identify better evidenced-based practices to slow down the lexico-semantic decline and further propose better care strategies.
