Cette semaine, le Pr. Laurent Lefebvre, Chef du service de Psychologie Cognitive et Neuropsychologie et Sandra Invernizzi, assistante-doctorante au sein du service, étaient à Porto, Portugal, pour participer au Global Neuropsychological Congress. Cette conférence est l’enthousiasmant résultat de la collaboration entre les quatre grandes organisations internationales de Neuropsychologie que sont la International Neuropsychological Society (INS), la Federation of European Neuroscience Societies – FENS , la Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI) et la Sociedad LatinoAmericana Neuropsichologia SLAN.
L’occasion pour eux d’assister à de nombreuses et passionnantes conférences, mais aussi d’échanger avec les collègues des autres laboratoires.
L’occasion également de présenter et discuter des résultats récents de nos recherches. Le Pr. Lefebvre présentait les premiers résultats de la recherche menée avec Sandrine Basaglia-Pappas (Ph.D) et la Pr. Isabelle Simoes Loureiro, sur l’utilisation de l’EMCS (évaluation multimodale des connaissances sémantiques) auprès de patients atteints de maladie d’Alzheimer ou d’Aphasie Primaire Progressive variant sémantique. Sandra Invernizzi quant à elle présentait les résultats de sa première étude destinée à différencier la mesure de l’activation sémantique de celle de la sémantique exécutive auprès de personnes âgées saines. Ses premiers résultats, analysés avec Alice Bodart (assistante-doctorante) et les Pr. Simoes Loureiro et Lefebvre, montrent que certains processus précoces de sémantique exécutive sont insensibles au vieillissement cognitif.
This week, Professor Laurent Lefebvre, Head of the Cognitive Psychology and Neuropsychology Department, and Sandra Invernizzi, doctoral assistant in the department, were in Porto, Portugal, to participate in the Global Neuropsychological Congress. This conference is the exciting result of collaboration between the four major international Neuropsychology organizations: the International Neuropsychological Society (INS), the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), the Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI), and the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Neuropsicología (SLAN).
It was an opportunity to attend many fascinating presentations and to exchange ideas with colleagues from other laboratories.
It was also an occasion to present and discuss recent research findings. Professor Lefebvre presented the initial results of research conducted with Sandrine Basaglia-Pappas (Ph.D.) and Professor Isabelle Simoes Loureiro on the use of EMCS (multimodal evaluation of semantic knowledge) in patients with Alzheimer’s disease or semantic variant Primary Progressive Aphasia. Sandra Invernizzi, on the other hand, presented the results of her first study aimed at differentiating the measurement of semantic activation from that of executive semantics in healthy elderly individuals. Her initial results, analyzed with Alice Bodart (doctoral assistant) and Professors Simoes Loureiro and Lefebvre, show that some early processes of executive semantics are insensitive to cognitive aging.
