Belgian Conference in Ecotoxicology (BCE 2026)
The University of Mons will host the first edition of the Belgian Conference in Ecotoxicology (BCE 2026) from 28 to 30 October 2026.
Created by early-career researchers for early-career scientists, this conference aims to provide an accessible, stimulating, and supportive environment for scientific exchange. The event seeks to foster interdisciplinary interactions, encourage first experiences in scientific conference presentations, and strengthen collaborations among young researchers from different institutions.
This inaugural edition will feature three internationally renowned plenary speakers: Julia Osterman (University of Gothenburg), Chloé Bonnineau (INRAE), and Krishna Das (University of Liège). Their presentations will address a range of ecotoxicology topics, including pesticide risk assessment and pollinator protection, microbial ecotoxicology, and marine pollution and its transfer through trophic networks.
A call for abstracts is currently open for both oral presentations and poster contributions. Participants will also have the opportunity to compete for the Best Poster Award and Best Oral Presentation Award, with separate categories for Master’s and PhD students. These awards are supported by the Belgian Society of Toxicology and Ecotoxicology (BelTox).
