3. Online Form
Before you can register at UMONS, you must submit an admissions application using the online admissions form at the following link: https://gestac.umons.ac.be/online/
Consult the admissions guide to help prepare and submit the application online, and note the important points.
Submit your application online. Any application submitted through an intermediary will be rejected.
It has been observed that applicants are victims of scams by intermediaries who offer their services for a fee in order to facilitate their admission, and who sometimes produce false documents, which results in the exclusion of the applicant concerned from all higher education establishments for a period of 3 years, the applicant being solely responsible for their file.
Once the online application has been completed, it will be evaluated by the Registration Office and, if necessary, the faculties will make their decision. You will receive a confirmation e-mail. You will also have to provide a financing plan indicating the nature, source and amounts you will have available to carry out your studies at UMONS.
4. Fees
A €200 administration fee will be charged before your application is sent.
This fee is a deposit on the tuition fee. This payment is a prerequisite for your application to be considered.
Administrative fees must be paid into the following account:
IBAN: BE53-0962-5121-3853 – BIC: GKCCBEBB
Patrimoine de l’Université de Mons – Droits d’inscription
B-7000 – MONS
Communication: Administrative fees, file number, last name + first name of student.
This account has been opened with Banque BELFIUS – Secteur Public et Grandes Entreprises – Boulevard Pachéco, 44 – 1000 – BRUSSELS
Tuition fees must have been paid at the time of your application (via online payment) or at the latest by bank transfer on the day you receive the e-mail confirming receipt of your application. This payment must have been received by UMONS:
- Within 15 calendar days of submitting of the application.
- By 5th September at the latest for applications submitted on or after 20th August.
After this deadline, the application will be automatically rejected.
Please note: international transfer costs are the applicant’s responsibility.
If your application is accepted, the deposit will be deducted from your tution fees.
In all other cases, the administrative application fee will not be refunded, particularly in the event of admission being refused, late submission and/or payment of the tuition fees (in accordance with Articles 3 and 4 of the Admissions Regulations), registration not being finalised at UMONS, or cancellation or withdrawal of registration, whether before or after 1st December.
Please check carefully that you meet the academic criteria set (see below).
5. Decision
If favourable:
You will receive by e-mail the visa attestation (Standard Form – Appendix 1) (invitation letter) required for your visa application (for students who must obtain a visa).
Please note that you must be in Belgium by 30th September at the latest in order to submit your online application.
Payment of the full tuition fees will be due in accordance with the provisions set out in the Study Regulations. For assimilated students, proof of assimilation must be provided on the day of registration (see Assimilation Criteria).
In case of refusal:
You will receive notification of refusal by e-mail. Rejected applications will not be reviewed. It is not possible to modify and/or add to them. A new admissions application may be sent provided that the application deadlines are met. In this case, you will have to pay the €200 administrative fee, which is linked to the application and not to the applicant.
This possibility of submitting a new application does not apply to applications that are refused if the amount justified in the financing plan is insufficient. In the latter case, all new applications will be rejected.
Note: Please be aware that, depending on the higher education system in force in your country, your years of study may be only partially recognised by the Board, which may offer a different programme to your initial application.
6. Academic Admissions Criteria
For all candidates:
- Incomplete applications will not be processed and applications received after the deadline will be rejected.
- Fees must be paid as indicated in Point 4.
- The authenticity of the documents provided will be checked. Any falsification of documents will result in the cancellation of admission and proceedings for fraud.
- The personal letter of motivation required in the application should preferably be typed and written in French (or in English, if the course is taught in English).
- The Board also takes into account the content of the personalised letter of motivation attached to the admissions application and examines, via the interest expressed by the candidate in the field of study, the course of study or the intended career, whether the course applied for corresponds to the applicant’s professional and personal plans and whether it is in line with their profile and any previous training.

7. Application Renewals
If you have submitted an application for admission for the 2024-2025 academic year, and your application has been accepted, but you have not been able to obtain a visa within the deadline, you can complete the online Application Renewal Form. In addition to the annexes, this application must be accompanied by a financing plan.
Remarks:
- The 2025-2026 academic criteria apply to application renewals.
- The request for renewal must be for the same course and the same cycle classification for which you were accepted in 2024-2025 (refer to the initial acceptance letter).
- Applications admitted in 2024-2025 are not automatically accepted. They may be rejected by the University.
- For tutition fees, refer to Article 4 of the 2025-2026 Admissions Regulations which sets out the provisions for deferring payment of fees when the initial application was submitted.
