The Rectors' Council of French-speaking universities in Belgium (CRef) fully supports the march for science on 7th March, an initiative led by the group “Stand Up for Science”.

Following on from its press release of 20th February in which it expressed its concern about the attacks on science in the United States and its solidarity with the institutions and scientists affected, the CRef fully supports the march for science on 7th March, an initiative led by the group “Stand Up for Science”.

The CRef also supports the open letter to scientists and academics in the United States (coordinated by the American Psychological Association), which affirms an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of science, including the defence and protection of its integrity, autonomy and objectivity, as well as its resources and funding.

    March 8 marks International Women's Rights Day, formalized by the UN in 1977. This day is a reminder of the persistent inequalities between the sexes. To mark the occasion, the Eunice alliance, including UMONS, has launched an awareness-raising campaign.
