Le sujet : Assessing creative and cultural learning: Evidence, ecosystems and the global insights of The How Factor
This research seminar provides an overview of the global research underpinning The How Factor. Drawing on evidence gathered across multiple countries, the seminar explores key themes including creative learning ecosystems, the role of universities in arts and cultural education, access, inclusion and equity, the relationship between education and the creative industries, and the importance of research and evidence in influencing policy and practice. A central focus of the session will be how to assess creative and cultural learning in meaningful and credible ways. The presentation will discuss approaches that move beyond traditional testing to include portfolio assessment, project-based evaluation, reflective practice, peer feedback, and the documentation of creative processes. These methods allow educators and researchers to capture important dimensions of learning such as imagination, originality, collaboration, persistence, and technical development, while also generating evidence that can inform institutional accountability and policy development. The seminar will encourage participants to discuss how universities, researchers, and cultural organisations can work together to develop robust yet flexible assessment frameworks that recognise the complexity of creative learning while strengthening its legitimacy within education systems.
