The C2W Come to Wallonia | Connect with Wallonia call for projects, led by UMONS and UNamur, offers experienced researchers an exceptional opportunity to develop new skills and competencies by implementing a high-quality, interdisciplinary research project. The project is supported by a European funding of €4.5 million (Marie Skłodowska Curie COFUND action). The third call opens on January 15, 2024.

Come to Wallonia | Connect with Wallonia is a European postdoctoral program based on incoming mobility. It is open to all research fields. The third call for projects will allow UMONS to recruit 3 new postdoctoral fellows of excellence for a period of two years.

The program includes research training and career development components. Each candidate will undertake a stay in another institution/with another partner (university, company, research center) in Belgium or internationally. The objectives are to broaden their career paths and enhance their research outcomes.

For the two partner universities, the goal is clear: boost research, strengthen their attractiveness to brilliant researchers with international mobility, increase their visibility, and stimulate a multiplier effect with other funding sources.

In total, over 30 experienced international researchers for 5 years at UMONS and UNamur

A rigorous selection process, conducted by external international expert juries, had led to the selection of research projects in diverse fields such as mathematical or theoretical physics, antibiotic resistance, microbiology, pedagogy, robotics, geology, colonialism, ancient and medieval history, ecology…

The second call closed at the end of December 2023, and the 13 awardees will join the two universities starting from March 2024. This third call aims to complete the framework of the 15 scholarships awarded to each university.
