Le terme ‘Internationalisation at Home’ recouvre toutes les activités et initiatives menées pour
+ sensibiliser les membres locaux de la communauté UMONS au monde;
+ faire de nos étudiants des citoyens du monde;

I wanted to improve my French and I chose to study in Belgium because it is the centre of the European Union, and of Europe.
I was delighted to discover courses that focused on the practical approach, rather than on the theoretical dimensions. Teachers have always been available and other students were all about team work.I have never been a big fan of small cities, but I must say that Mons has a unique charm! For my Erasmus experience it was perfect…especially the Beffroi Park, my little oasis.
What cultural discoveries did you make about Belgium ?I especially like the “escargots” and “moules”, since I am a fan of seafood. But let’s not forget chocolate. One must be a fool not to mention Belgian chocolate as one of the best things about Belgium.
Did you discover cultural events and folklore ?Yes, I was at the Carnival of Binche and got hit by a few oranges, but all in all I survived and I loved it and I loved the “Gilles”. Also, in May, I went to the “Doudou”, the main festival of Mons. It was just a-ma-zing!

My academic experience at Warocqué School of Business and Economics has been very enriching. We mainly study in small groups and this allows an interaction with the teacher and therefore it is easier to learn and also, more rewarding!
Mons is a beautiful university town in the heart of Europe. People are very friendly and always want help you.You can find beautiful old buildings that bear witness to its historical architecture.
Travel in Belgium is very easy, cheap and comfortable. A lot of beautiful cities are very near from Mons so we took advantage of that and we visited many of the Belgian cities.
In the other hand the fact that Belgium is in the heart of Europe, it allows to travel everywhere in Europe in a very little time! I travelled to Norway, Poland, Holland, France and Luxembourg.
What would you describe as your best souvenir?The best souvenir I have, is all the people I met. Many of them have become part of my family despite of the distance that now unfortunately we have. Another were all the travels I did with them around Europe. It was really amazing!! The one thing I would say to my friends is to go on Erasmus. It is an experience that truly changes your life and the way we live it.
