The C2W Come to Wallonia | Connect with Wallonia call for projects offers experienced researchers a unique opportunity to develop new skills and expertise by undertaking a leading research project with a strong interdisciplinary focus. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 101034383.

As partners in this project, UMONS and UNamur are proud to welcome 15 new researchers in this context. A rigorous selection process, carried out by external panels of international experts, resulted in the selection of research projects in fields as varied as mathematical and theoretical physics, antibiotic resistance, microbiology, pedagogy, robotics, geology, colonialism, ancient and medieval history, and ecology, among others.

These post-doctoral fellows will carry out a 2-year research project. The programme also includes research training and career development. Each of them will be seconded to another sector (company, research centre, etc.) in Belgium or abroad.
What are the objectives? To broaden career paths, to enrich research results, and to gain international exposure. These post-doctoral fellows will also have the opportunity to establish new collaborations and to train new researchers.

For the two partner universities, there is a clear three-fold objective: to strengthen their attractiveness to talented researchers undergoing international mobility programmes, to boost their visibility, and to generate a knock-on effect for other funds.
