The objective of the programme is to develop a strong capacity for autonomy in the use of public health methods and apply this knowledge in the workplace. The foundations of computer science are acquired at the beginning of the course. Basic and advanced statistical and epidemiological methods are discussed in theory and in practice. Other methods are also covered in the course in the following areas: operational research, health planning, health services research, health care strategies, and demography. The course enables participants to acquire the basics of new technologies and transmit their acquired knowledge to their colleagues via audio-visual and computer media.
