Structure of studies
Our courses are divided into two parts :
- A transitional Bachelor’s in Architecture (180 credits). This 1st cycle is designed as basic training enabling access to the Master’s degree. Unlike the short, professional Bachelor’s degree, this qualification does not give direct access to the job market.
- A professional 2nd cycle Master’s in Architecture or a Master’s in Urban Design and Territorial Development (120 credits). To work as a self-employed architect, you must be registered with the Ordre des Architectes, which requires two years’ training.
At the end of this initial training, students have the option of supplementing their Master’s training by :
- A 2nd cycle Advanced Master’s Conservation and Restoration of Immovable Cultural Heritage.
- A 3rd cycle Architecture and Urban Planning comprising 180 credits, including doctoral training (leading to the award of a research training certificate) and work relating to the preparation of a doctoral thesis.
Students intending to pursue a career in teaching have the possibility of following :
- The AESS which is the teaching qualification required to teach in upper secondary education.
Students can also access a range of continuing education courses, structured as University Certificates.
