• Incomplete applications will not be processed and applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

• The authenticity of the supporting documents provided will be verified. Admissions will be cancelled if any supporting documents are found to be falsified.

(including for candidates for one of the university admissions exams):

• Admission applications must be submitted within 5 years of completion of secondary school studies abroad (Baccalaureate, state diploma, etc.) – (therefore, for 2022-2023 admissions, the secondary school diploma must have been obtained in June 2017 or after). This criterion only applies to students who have not yet obtained a 1st cycle (Bachelor’s) qualification.
• An average of 13/20 at secondary level is required (in the absence of a numerical mark, a grade of “assez bien” is required. If there is no grade, the application will be transmitted to the Faculty). An exception is made for students who have completed at least 2 consecutive years of the same course of higher education studies abroad (reports or transcripts required).
• HUE applicants who can be funded via the assimilation criteria are not concerned by the general or specific academic criteria set by the faculties.
• Have already obtained, at the time of application, a decision of equivalence to the CESS giving access to the envisaged course. In the case of a provisional equivalence, the visa attestation allowing the submission of the visa application to the competent consulate will only be issued after receipt of the proof that the necessary steps have been taken to obtain the definitive equivalence.Exceptions to this rule
  • the HUE candidate present on Belgian territory and not needing a study VISA who can be admitted subject to passing the DACS or the entrance exam for undergraduate studies of higher education;
  • the candidate wishing to be admitted to the Bachelor of Engineering Sciences and taking the special entrance examination for these studies.

These criteria are in addition to those specified above.

• You must have obtained your secondary school diploma (Baccalaureate, state diploma, etc.) with an average of 13/20 and a minimum of 12/20 for subjects that you will continue to study at the Faculty. These are mathematics, physics and chemistry for applied science faculties.
• Mathematics must count for at least 1/6 of your course load at secondary school.

Registration for studies in medicine is now conditional on the successful completion of the specific entrance exam (see here).

In addition to the general criteria, for an application beyond BAB1 for the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences:

• An average of 12/20 will be required for each year of higher education. If the studies led to a diploma, the average will be checked on the diploma or the last year of the studies. Candidates may not have any failures in the basic scientific subjects (biology, physics, chemistry) for any of the years of study spent in higher education.
• The jury reserves the right not to award credits for identical teaching units acquired with a mark of less than 12/20.

Criteria for admission to the BAB1

• An average of 13/20 in the secondary diploma is required (general criteria)

Criteria for admission as a bachelor beyond BAB1

• The application for admission must be made within 5 years of obtaining the secondary diploma abroad (baccalaureate, state diploma, etc.). This criterion applies to all students, even those who have obtained a 1st year diploma.
• For students who have already successfully completed at least two consecutive years of higher education in the same course of study abroad (with supporting transcripts) or who have already obtained an undergraduate degree abroad, an average of 12/20 per year of successful study is required. The jury reserves the right to refuse to take into consideration years of successful study if the average of each year of study is not at least equal to 12/20 or if the programmes of these studies are too far removed from the course applied for.

No favours can be requested by students who, due to the admission process, arrive after 15 September. • An average of 12/20, or in the absence of a numerical mark, the equivalent of an “assez bien” classification (without prejudice to a more in-depth assessment of the student’s background by the Faculty Board), is required for the last year(s) of study taken into account in the assessment of the admissions application. In the absence of a numerical mark or classification, the application will be sent to the Faculty.

An annual average of 12/20, or in the absence of a numerical mark, a “good enough” mention (without prejudice to a more thorough evaluation of the academic record by the faculty’s jury), is required for each year of higher education taken into account in the evaluation of the application.

The course of study prior to enrolment at FWEG must have been undertaken at a public or public university or college to be considered for admission. It is imperative that the student provides proof of this in order to avoid a refusal of admission.

. The file must justify the successful completion of 3 years of higher education (180 credits acquired) with a degree in the field of economics and management. In addition, for admission to the MA Management Engineering, technical, industrial and quantitative skills are required (see for example the BA Management Engineering programme offered at FWEG).

The Faculty reserves the right to refuse admission if, at the time of analysis, the file does not contain the required degree.

. The student must prove sufficient knowledge of the English language for any application for admission to Master’s studies at FWEG. A certificate issued by one of the three official bodies (TOIEC, TOEFL, IELTS or UMONS ELAO test) will be attached to the application. Any application that does not meet these criteria will not be considered. For more information on the English language requirement, please see the document below.

In the event of refusal of admission to the Master’s programme, the file may be submitted to the Bachelor’s jury for re-examination only if it meets the academic criteria for admission to the Bachelor’s programme.

• For access to the Masters in Psychological Sciences, a general average of 12/20 for the whole of the first cycle and a cumulative deficit of maximum 2 failure points (e.g.: one failure of 08/20 or two of maximum 09/20 for the whole of the validated courses) in the teaching units (teaching unit = course) of the first cycle, will be required for students who do not have a Bachelier in psychological sciences and education (general orientation) delivered in the French Community of Belgium (except for the passerelle).

  For access to the Masters in Educational Sciences, a first cycle in the field of education and/or a pedagogical title with a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of education as well as a relevant letter of motivation will be required for students who do not have a Bachelors degree in psychological sciences and education (general orientation) delivered in the French Community of Belgium (excluding the passerelle).

• Access to the Masters in Psychological Sciences and Education Sciences organised by the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Mons is exclusively reserved for students who can attest to a sufficient command of the French language. The application must therefore include a certificate or a certified copy of the certificate issued by an official body certifying the candidate’s level of French.

• Students must have graduated at Bachelor level with the equivalent of at least 180 credits in two foreign languages from the language combinations offered at the FTI; French is not included as it is the language of instruction.

These criteria are in addition to those specified for general admission onto Master’s programmes.
The student must be proficient in English and/or French for any application to study for a Master’s degree in Engineering.

For admission onto the Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, proof of proficiency in English is required by including one of the following in the admissions application:

• A certificate issued by an official body (CAMBRIDGE (minimum score: 160/230), IELTS (minimum level: 6), TOEIC (minimum level passive skills 750/990), TOEFL ITP (minimum score: 543), TOEFL iBT (minimum score: 72/120)) certifying a minimum level of B2 in English in accordance with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
• Proof that the applicant is registered to take one of these tests. The test must then be taken before 30/05 (of the year in question). In case of registration for a test organised after the application has been submitted, the application will be processed but no certificate required for issuing a visa will be sent until the certificate of achievement has been received by UMONS. The student must send a certified copy of the results as soon as these have been received
• For this Master’s degree, an A2 level in French is also desirable.

For admissions to other Masters in Civil Engineering, knowledge of the English language must be included in the admission file, either :

• A certificate issued by an official body (CAMBRIDGE (minimum score: 160/230), IELTS (minimum level: 6), TOEIC (minimum level passive skills 750/990), TOEFL ITP (minimum score: 543), TOEFL iBT (minimum score: 72/120)) certifying a minimum level of B2 in English in accordance with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

  • A certificate issued by an official body (DELF, TCF our TEF) certifying a minimum level of B2 in French in accordance with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), or, for students with a degree from a Francophone country
  • an official certificate from the institution that awarded the most recent qualification certifying that the majority of the teaching and assessment was in French
  • Proof that the applicant is registered to take one of these tests. The test must then be taken before 30/05 (of the year in question). In case of registration for a test organised after the application has been submitted, the application will be processed but no certificate required for issuing a visa will be sent until the certificate of achievement has been received by UMONS. The student must send a certified copy of the results as soon as these have been received.

In addition to the general criteria for admission onto the Master’s programmes, an average of 12/20 is required in all subjects, and then, independently of this, a minimum mark of 12/20 is required for your dissertation, placement and any other professional integration activities.

Access to METIS is exclusively reserved for students who can prove that they have a sufficient command of the French language.

If the candidate does not hold :

• Baccalaureate obtained in an establishment where the language of instruction is French
• foreign diploma attesting to a course of higher education followed in an establishment where the language of instruction is French*, or
• an equivalence which grants access to higher education and exempts you from the French language examination.

In this case, the application must include a certificate or a certified copy of the certificate issued by an official body certifying that the applicant’s level of French is at least B2 for the 4 language skills.

The candidate must provide results for the following parts: oral comprehension, written comprehension, oral production and written production. Applications that do not include one of the required documents will be refused.

* If the applicant is in his or her final year, the application will only be accepted if the current year is passed.

• For all completed 1st cycle studies, an average of 13/20 will be required.
• For all completed 2nd cycle studies, the student must have obtained an average of 13/20 for 1st cycle studies and 12/20 for 2nd cycle studies.

Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences: Research Focus

• The average of the results obtained in the original programme must be at least equal to or higher than 12/20 for the last three years of study that can be taken into account for the application.
• The results obtained during the last three years of study that can be taken into account in the application for admission must not show any failure.
• The last diploma obtained must be a Master’s degree, recognised as equivalent or valued for 300 credits by the admission jury.
• A certificate issued by an official body (CAMBRIDGE, IELTS, BULATS, TOEIC or TOEFL iBT) certifying a minimum knowledge of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference or a score above 700 in the TOEIC will be attached to the application.

Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences: Specialist Focus on Neuroscience

• The average of the results obtained in the original course of study must be at least equal to or higher than 12/20 for the last three years of study eligible for admission.
• The results obtained during the last three years of study that can be taken into account in the application for admission must not show any failure.
• The last diploma obtained must be a Master’s degree, recognised as equivalent or valued for 300 credits by the admission jury.
• A certificate issued by an official body (CAMBRIDGE, IELTS, BULATS, TOEIC or TOEFL iBT) certifying a minimum knowledge of level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference or a score higher than 750 in the TOEIC will be attached to the application.

Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences: All Specialist Focuses

• Access is only possible for candidates holding a diploma in Pharmacy obtained with an average of 12/20.
• Candidates will be admitted to the Master with a complementary programme of 8 credits (Pharmacochemistry course: studies of organic drugs – Part 1) the 60 credits of block 1 of the Master.

Criteria for admission to a Master’s degree

• An average of 14/20 in the first cycle diploma is required. The jury reserves the right to refuse to take into consideration the diploma obtained if it is too far removed from the undergraduate training required for admission to the Master’s programme.
• The application for admission must be submitted within 3 years of obtaining the 1st cycle degree.
