UMONS is regularly looking for companies to support research projects.
This type of collaboration allows socio-economic investors to:
- contribute to the research activities of UMONS without any financial commitment
- monitor and advise the work of our researchers and eventually become a partner for the exploitation of research results.
These are four-year fundamental research projects (initial contract of 2 years, renewable once) with a focus on industry (FRIA) or with an intended short- or medium-term societal impact (FRESH).
In some cases, industrial or non-academic references are necessary
- For FRIA when defining short-term applications
- For FRESH to justify the societal impact of the project (a reference person with significant activity in the field, outside of the academic world)
Sponsoring a First Spin-Off (FSO) project
FSO projects aim to set up a spin-off over a period of 2 to 3 years.
The sponsor of a First Spin-Off can be a person or a company and must demonstrate their contribution to the project from the point of view of the market, technology, …
The sponsor is invited to attend 3 or 4 meetings a year. Sponsoring the FSO allows the sponsor to follow an innovative project and contribute to the editing of the future spin-off.
