Geology and Mining Engineering

Imagine, design, develop and implement efficient sites and operating facilities of mineral and energy resources, taking into account environmental aspects and sustainable development.

Geology and mining engineers are major players in the exploration and evaluation of deposits, the extraction of minerals and hydrocarbons and the development of minerals. Their skills are of paramount importance in the design and construction of civil engineering works (e.g. roads, railway tracks, tunnels, dams, bridges, and underground storage facilities).

They also work to prevent the effects of natural phenomena (earthquakes, landslides, etc.) on human infrastructures and to prevent and address the impacts of human activities on the environment and natural resources (groundwater protection, waste recovery, rehabilitation of polluted sites, geological storage of CO2, etc.).
