Admission Exam
To register for undergraduate studies in the field of Engineering Sciences, you must pass the entrance examination. It is a legal requirement.
In addition to its regulatory aspect, the admission exam also allows candidates to know their level in the key subjects. This is an academic examination (note that this exam is NOT a competition).
Selection is based solely on the personal qualities of the candidates. There is no limitation to the number of students admitted.
Candidates wishing to register on the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (general and architectural engineering).
For students holding an upper secondary education certificate (CESS), the examinations cover mathematics subjects only. This is also the case for holders of a valid equivalence for engineering sciences in the French Community. (lien vers site web équivalence)
Other candidates will also have non-mathematical tests (French, History, Geography, Science, and a second language [English, Dutch, German or Latin])

Reform of the compulsory education calendar and examination dates 2022-2023
In order to adapt to the changes in the school calendar for compulsory education while preserving the possibility for its staff to enjoy a well-deserved summer break, the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons, the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the ULiège and the Polytechnic Schools of the UCLouvain and the ULB have jointly decided to schedule the various tests of the first session of the admission exam to undergraduate studies in the field of engineering sciences on 5 and 6 July 2023 and, if necessary, on the morning of Friday 7 July, i.e. during the usual white days at the end of the school year.
The planning of the second session tests is not affected by the reform of the compulsory education calendar. They are scheduled for 31 August and 1 and 2 September 2023.
The dean and the deans of the engineering schools thank the authorities of the secondary schools that accompany the candidates for admission for adjusting the schedule of their end-of-school-year activities to allow for the preparation and participation of their students in the various tests.
At the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons, the first session of exams is scheduled for 5, 6 and July 2023. The second session will be organised on 31 August, 1 and 2 September 2023.
