Initial Registration
Applications for enrollment may be submitted up to and including September 30, 2022 for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Beginning October 1, 2022, they will be treated as late applications and must be authorized by the Dean of the appropriate faculty or school (via the late application form).
The online procedure is required for any new student who has never been enrolled at UMONS (no UMONS matriculation number).
Please note that for courses organised in Charleroi, the specification “Charleroi” as well as the type of timetable is indicated in brackets in the course title.
Students wishing to register for the AESS or CAPAES, must follow the procedure described below in the AESS/CAPAES section
For former students who have interrupted their studies at the UMONS and wish to re-register, please go to the Inscriptions Service in Mons or to the Cellule de coordination des études on the Charleroi Campus in order to fill in a “paper” registration form with the required documents mentioned below in point 2.1.
1. Registration for the first block of Bachelor’s studies
1.1 If you finished your secondary school studies in 2022:
If you are about to finish your secondary school studies, you will need to apply for registration via the full online registration application for 2022 secondary school graduates:

The following documents must be submitted in PDF or JPEG format:
- Both sides of your identification documentation (ID card, residence permit, passport)
- A copy of your birth certificate
- Evidence that you can access higher education:
- The original of your CESS or a provisional document stating that you have passed (for Belgian students)
- A foreign degree, or provisional document stating that you have passed, accompanied by the equivalence decision
- Official documentation proving that you have passed the university entrance exam for 1st cycle higher education studies if you do not hold a CESS or if you have not got an equivalence for your foreign qualification
- For access to 1st cycle engineering studies, official documentation proving that you have passed the special admissions exam for this course of study
Note: Students wishing to register for the Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or Speech-Language Therapy must follow the specific procedure for these two curriculums.
1.2 If you finished your secondary school studies before 2022
You must submit an online application form:

The following documents must be submitted in PDF or JPEG format:
- Both sides of your identification documentation (ID card, residence permit, passport)
- A copy of your birth certificate
- Evidence that you can access higher education:
- The certificate or official documentation confirming the qualification allowing access to undergraduate studies. If at registration the student does not yet have this evidence, they must produce the original of the provisional document of this qualification. Upon receipt of this evidence, and by the end of the academic year at the very latest, the student must submit the definitive form to the Registration Office by email.
- The equivalence decision if the qualification is not Belgian
- Official documentation proving that you have passed the university entrance exam for 1st cycle higher education studies if you do not hold a CESS or if you have not got an equivalence for your foreign qualification
- For access to 1st cycle engineering studies, official documentation proving that you have passed the special admissions exam for this course of study
- Supporting documents confirming the student’s professional and/or academic activities for the five years preceding registration, namely:
- An official certificate of schooling (mentioning the success or failure and the absence of debt to the establishment)
- Transcripts of results for each year mentioning the credits of the student’s annual programme and the credits acquired
- Official declaration of employment
- Official declaration of unemployment
- Official declaration proving a stay abroad which states departure and return dates
- Official declaration stating a medical condition
- Any official documentation justifying the student’s past activity.
In the absence of supporting documents, the student must sign a sworn statement certifying that they, for all the years in question, have not followed any higher education studies in Belgium or abroad, and specifying why they are unable to provide proof of this.
- Official documentation confirming that the student is free of debt to higher education authorities in the French Community of Belgium for the academic years 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018.
Note: Students wishing to register for the Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or Speech-Language Therapy must follow the specific procedure for these two curriculums.
Unfinanceable students will not be allowed to register without obtaining prior authorisation from the Rector. See procedure here.
2. Registration beyond the first block of Bachelor’s studies
2.1 If you are registered at a university or other higher education institution in Belgium:
As a graduate of higher education or as a student currently registered at another institution of higher education, various options are available to you.
- If you are registered on a Bachelor’s course and wish to continue on the same course, you must follow the procedure outlined in 1.2. You must provide proof of registration on the course and the transcripts of results for each academic year passed. Unfinanceable students will not be allowed to register without obtaining prior authorisation from the Rector. See procedure here.
- For any other qualification obtained, please complete the application form available online. More information

2.2 If you are registered at a university or other higher education institution abroad:

As a graduate of higher education or as a student currently registered at another institution of higher education, various options are available to you. You must, however, fulfil certain conditions and, if applicable, submit a registration application before being allowed to register.
Belgian, EU and non-EU students
A. If you have a higher education qualification or are about to graduate in Belgium
Use our search tool to find out which UMONS Masters courses you have access to and under which conditions.
- If you have unconditional direct access, please complete the online application form. You must have the following documents in PDF or JPEG format:
- An identity document (identity card, residence permit, passport) front and back
- A birth certificate
- Your higher education diploma(s)
- Your transcripts for each of your years of study, including failed years
- Proof of your academic and/or professional activities during the last 10 years prior to your registration if these are not covered by your diploma(s).
- An official attestation confirming the absence of debt towards your last higher education institution in CFB (for studies started from 2014-2015).
- If you have “Passerelles” access and full access to the UMONS You must complete the application form for full access available here. This file will enable the Jury to determine your course programme, taking into account your previous training. You must have the following documents in PDF or JPEG format:
- The completed full access file.
- Your identity card (identity card, residence permit, passport) front and back Your higher education diploma(s)
- Your transcripts for each of your years of study, including failed years
- Proof of your academic and/or professional activities during the last 5 years prior to your registration if these are not covered by your diploma(s).
- An official attestation confirming the absence of debt towards your last higher education institution in CFB (for studies started from 2014-2015).
In both of the above cases, you are invited to submit an online application:

B. If you have a higher education qualification or are about to graduate abroad

AESS
You must go to the Registration Office, or the Administrative Office in Charleroi, between 23 June and 30 September, with the following documents and the AESS registration form (available here) already completed, dated and signed::
- Your ID card
- A copy of your birth certificate
- A medical certificate confirming that you are able to pursue higher education
- Evidence that you can access higher education:
- The original and a copy of the certificate or official documentation justifying access to the AESS (Certificate of Teaching for Upper Secondary Education). If at registration the student does not yet have this evidence, they must produce the original of the provisional document of this qualification. Upon receipt of this evidence, and by the end of the academic year at the very latest, the student must submit the definitive form to the Registration Office.
- The equivalence decision, which gives access to the AESS, if the qualification is not Belgian.
Note: students approaching the end of a 120-credit Master’s course at an institution in the French Community, and whose annual programme (PAE) contains no more than 60 credits worth of courses, can simultaneously register on the AESS course. However, until they have obtained the necessary Master’s degree, they will not officially graduate from this course.
Note: No one will be admitted onto any study programme leading to the AESS qualification, unless they have previously demonstrated a thorough command of the French language. For more information, click here.
- Supporting documents confirming the student’s professional and/or academic activities for the ten years preceding registration, namely:
- An official certificate of schooling (mentioning the success or failure and the absence of debt to the establishment)
- Transcripts of results for each year mentioning the credits of the student’s annual programme and the credits acquired

CAPAES
The procedure is identical to that of the registration onto the AESS course. However, at registration, you must also provide: Proof that you are registered at a Haute Ecole for the 2018-2019 academic year (declaration from the Haute Ecole). The application form for the CAPAES is available here.
Students who wish to register on the Bachelor’s in Law must do so via the ULB website.

Entrance Exam for Medicine
Note: Since the 2017-2018 academic year, a compulsory entrance exam has been organised.

Registration for this exam is via the ARES website.
Students can now encode their online registration applications by following the procedure outlined in the “Initial Registration” section.
However, in order to finalise registration, and in addition to the documents listed in the “Initial Registration” section, students must, at registration, be in possession of the certificate of achievement of the entrance exam.
Several cases of exemptions from this exam are outlined here.
All students who are in possession of a certificate of successful completion of the examination presented in 2022 will be allowed to register for the academic year 2022-2023 (including HUE and non-fundable students in 2022-2023).
In the event that the student has failed the entrance exam, they may register on another course. The documents needed are the same, except for the certificate of achievement of the entrance exam.
NOTE – for non-EU students: Registrations of non-EU students onto other courses will, however, be conditional on obtaining the authorisation of the faculty concerned. The admissions conditions listed on our web page must be respected.
In accordance with the provisions of the Decree of 16 June 2006, the maximum number of NON-RESIDENT students authorised to enrol at UMONS in the courses concerned is limited.
This number is set at 30% of the total number of students, residents and non-residents, who enrolled for the first time in the programme in the previous academic year (20% for studies in veterinary sciences).
The number of non-residents allowed to enrol at UMONS in 2022-2023 for the degree of Bachelor in Psychological and Educational Sciences – Logopaedic Orientation is fixed at 11.
Registration procedures for 2022-2023:
You will find in the “Information brochure” all the useful information to complete and submit an application for admission to the UMONS. We hope you enjoy reading it.
To determine your profile (resident or non-resident), please consult the information brochure. Applications for admission should be made using the appropriate forms.
- Resident students: registration now. You must complete the resident form (R) available below. Once completed, you must come to the registration department during our opening hours (see link) with the completed form and its annexes, or send the completed form and its annexes to us at logopedie@umons.ac.be. Once you have confirmed that you are a resident, you will receive a specific acknowledgement of receipt. Once you have received this acknowledgement of receipt, you must follow the procedure for first-time enrolment as described under “First-time enrolment as a bachelor for Belgian and European Union students” or “First-time enrolment for HUE students”. If you are already registered at the UMONS and wish to enrol for the bachelor’s degree in speech and language therapy, you must go to the registration department with the “resident” file (R). Emailing will not be possible in this case.
- Non-resident students: submission of applications on 19, 20 and 23 August 2021 until 4 p.m. in accordance with the procedure set out in the “non-resident” form (NR). Your application must be strictly complete when submitted. It will not be possible to complete it afterwards. For students who are nationals of a country outside the European Union and who are not resident in Belgium: In order to be admitted, in addition to being ranked in the right order at the time of the draw, candidates must meet the academic criteria listed on this page.
- The number of NR files received at the end of the 3-day period will be communicated on 23 August 2022 at 6pm, as well as the notification of the results on 5 September 2022 at 6pm, both on this same page.

Information about the academic year 2021-2022.
At the end of the 3-day application period, we received: 36 applications in total for the degree of Bachelor in Psychological and Educational Sciences – Logopaedics Orientation
As the quota of 13 places available has been exceeded, a draw will be held shortly. At the same time, the files will be checked by the Government Commissioner. The results of the draw and the admissibility check will be communicated to the candidates by e-mail and via our website (display of the numbers of the files received/not received), on 6 September 2021 at 6 pm. Finally, in accordance with the legal provisions, a register for the deposit of files will be opened at the UMONS Registration Department from 4.01 pm on Monday 23 August 2021.
September 6, 2021: NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS for the bachelor in psychological sciences and education, speech therapy orientation
As a reminder: the student, whose file is accepted, will have to confirm his registration by going in person to the UMONS Registration Service (22 Place du Parc, 7000 Mons) between 7 September 2021 and 10 September 2021 inclusive during the opening hours of the Registration Service (from 9am to 12pm and from 1.30pm to 4pm). The confirmation must be accompanied by the immediate and full payment of the registration fees according to the payment methods in force at the UMONS (payment by bank card (Bancontact, Mastercard/visa, Maestro) only – attention, cheques and cash will not be accepted). In addition, the confirmation of registration will only be validated on presentation of the letter of acceptance, the original documents listed on the notification of acceptance, the identity card and/or passport and a birth certificate.
Please note! From 13 September 2021, the places of students who have not confirmed their registration will be reallocated according to the order of ranking. The students who have been identified will be contacted by email.
